Editing Services for Indie Authors
You wrote the story. Now let’s make sure it reads the way you imagined it.
I offer thoughtful, collaborative editing for independent fiction authors who want to strengthen their work without losing the voice that makes it theirs. Whether your manuscript needs a final polish, closer attention at the sentence level, or a deeper look at the story as a whole, my approach is always the same: understand what you’re trying to do first, then help you do it even better.
I work across fiction genres and especially love romance and character-driven stories. I’m also looking to spend more time in the weird, dark, magical, and unexpected, so paranormal romance, sci-fi, monster romance, dark fairy-tale retellings, and other speculative stories are very welcome here.
Basically: send me your weird books.
Not every manuscript needs the same kind of editorial support. Whether you're looking for a final polish, stronger writing at the sentence level, or a deeper look at the story as a whole, we'll figure out what makes sense for where your manuscript is now.

Full Manuscript Editing takes a deeper look at both your writing and the story you’re telling. I’ll review your manuscript from the big picture down, paying attention to structure, pacing, character development, continuity, clarity, and the places where your reader may need more context, connection, or resolution, while still protecting the voice and vision that make the story yours.

How It Works
Every manuscript is different, and the right editing support depends on where you are in the process. Before we commit to anything, let’s make sure we’re a good fit for each other and that you’re getting the level of editing your story actually needs.
Let’s Talk About Your Book
Start with a free 15-minute consultation. We’ll talk about your manuscript, where you are in the writing and publishing process, what kind of support you’re looking for, and any questions you have about working together.
I’ll Recommend the Right Edit
You don’t have to diagnose your own manuscript. Based on our conversation and the condition of your draft, I’ll confirm which editing service makes the most sense for your book and the kind of support you’re looking for.
You’ll Get a Custom Quote
After we’ve confirmed the scope, I’ll provide your final rate based on the service, manuscript length, and editorial needs, along with the project timeline and next steps. Your project dates are officially secured once your agreement is signed and your 50% deposit is received
Then, I Get to Work
Once your project begins, I’ll dig into your manuscript with one goal: helping you strengthen the story you’re trying to tell without turning it into somebody else’s.

FAQ’s: Your Questions, Answered
How do I know which editing service I need?
You don’t have to figure that out alone. During your free 15-minute consultation, we’ll talk about your manuscript, where you are in the writing and publishing process, and what kind of support you’re looking for. From there, I’ll recommend the level of editing that makes the most sense for your book.
How much will my edit cost?
Pricing starts at $500 for Proofreading, $750 for Comprehensive Line Editing, and $1,250 for Full Manuscript Editing. Starting rates cover manuscripts up to 25,000 words. Longer manuscripts are priced based on total word count, and your final rate will be confirmed before you commit to the project.
How does payment work?
A 50% deposit is required to secure your project dates on my editing calendar. The remaining balance is due before your completed manuscript is returned. Payment details, deadlines, and any applicable cancellation or rescheduling terms will be outlined in your agreement before you commit to the project.
How long will my edit take?
Turnaround depends on the length of your manuscript, the level of editing needed, and my availability. You’ll receive an estimated project timeline with your quote so you know what to expect before booking.
Do you offer sample edits?
For prospective Comprehensive Line Editing and Full Manuscript Editing clients, I may provide a complimentary sample edit of up to 500 words when helpful in determining fit and editorial approach. Sample edits are not intended to provide a full assessment of your manuscript.
Do your services include revisions?
Proofreading and Comprehensive Line Editing include one complete editorial pass. They do not include a second review of revisions made after your manuscript is returned.
Full Manuscript Editing includes one complete editorial pass, an editorial letter, and two follow-up consultations to discuss the feedback provided and questions that come up as you revise. Review of revised or newly written material is not included and can be quoted separately if additional support is needed.
How do the follow-up consultations for Full Manuscript Editing work?
Your first consultation is up to 60 minutes and should be scheduled within 30 days of receiving your edit. Your second consultation is up to 45 minutes and should be scheduled within 90 days.
These conversations are your opportunity to dig deeper into my existing feedback, ask questions, and talk through your revisions. They do not include advance review or editing of revised material.
What if you think my manuscript needs a different service than the one I’m interested in?
I’ll tell you. The goal isn’t to sell you the most expensive option; it’s to make sure the service matches what your manuscript actually needs. We’ll confirm the scope together before you receive a final quote or commit to the project.
What genres do you edit?
I work with independent fiction authors across genres, with a particular love for romance and character-driven stories. I’m especially interested in working with more paranormal romance, sci-fi, monster romance, dark fairy-tale retellings, and other stories that lean weird, dark, magical, or unexpected.
And yes, send me your weird books.
Will you change my writing style or voice?
No. Your voice is part of what makes your story yours. My job isn’t to rewrite your book the way I would have written it. I’ll make edits and offer feedback that strengthen clarity, consistency, readability, and storytelling while respecting intentional choices in your voice and style.
Do you guarantee that my manuscript will be error-free?
I’ll give your manuscript a careful, professional edit, but no editor can reasonably guarantee that a manuscript will be completely error-free. My goal is to significantly strengthen and polish your work while being transparent about the scope of the service you’ve selected.
How do I get started?
Book a free 15-minute consultation. We’ll talk about your manuscript, determine whether we’re a good fit, and identify the right level of editorial support. If we decide to move forward, I’ll send you a custom quote, project timeline, agreement, and payment details.
Meet Your Editor
Hi, I’m Ena! I’m an editor, storyteller, and lifelong lover of a good book.
What started as one of my many creative side quests has grown into work I genuinely love: helping independent authors strengthen their stories while holding onto the voice, personality, and intention that made them want to write the book in the first place.
My editing philosophy is pretty simple: I’m not here to rewrite your story into the one I would have written. I want to understand what you’re trying to do, what you want your readers to feel, and where the manuscript may need a little more clarity, connection, or care to get there.
Over the past year and beyond, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with indie authors through everything from final proofreads to detailed line edits and full-manuscript feedback. Along the way, I’ve developed an editing style that is thoughtful, collaborative, direct when it needs to be, and always rooted in respect for the writer behind the words.
I love romance and character-driven stories, and lately I’ve been itching to get my hands on more stories that venture into the weird, dark, magical, and unexpected.
You’ve already done the brave part: you wrote the book. I’m here to help you make it stronger.
